Self-chilling beverage can looks cool

A self chilling beverage can has been a dream of the beverage companies for ages. Pepsi thought they had something back in the 1990s but they balked and scrapped their plans due to concerns over the coolant they wanted to use. Now someone else will have to offer a self cooling can up.

Mitchell Joseph has created an independent company using his self-chilling can technology, called Joseph Company International/ They are ready to launch an energy drink called “West Coast Chill” that has the ability to lower its contents to 30 degrees.

How it works is a secret, but we can guess that the can contains a chamber of highly pressurized CO2 gas surrounding the drink. This chamber is connected to a button located at the bottom of the can. So when you press the button and open the valve, the gas rushes out of the bottom of the can and expands. This absorbs the heat surrounding the liquid, which lowers the temperature. And CO2 much more environmentally friendly than what Pepsi had in mind.
