Earlier today Google started rolling out a brand new app update for Google Wallet. The update introduces several new features such as the ability to add credit and debit cards just by taking a picture of them.
So what else is new? According to the change-log, the update brings support for the new Google Wallet card and even includes minor bug fixes and a few unspecified performance improvements.
These changes alone would have made the Wallet update pretty significant, but there’s more. For Android 4.4 KitKat users, the new Wallet update brings tap & pay support.
Although the Nexus 5 already had support out of the box, today’s update brings the feature to several new NFC-equipped devices such as the Moto X, Nexus 7 and any device running an AOSP-based Android 4.4 ROM.
As is usual with Google apps, the rollout is staged and so it might be a few days before it reaches everyone. In the meantime, you can always download the APK and manually install the app.
